ACR Provence is a general building company – what the French call an entreprise générale tous corps d'état – with its head office in Salon-de-Provence and further agencies in Cavaillon, Le Cannet and Trans-en-Provence. We renovate, extend and build homes across the Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse, Var and Alpes-Maritimes, from village houses near the Alpilles to villas on the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur).
A large share of the owners we work for do not live in France all year round. They have bought a stone farmhouse, a flat by the sea or a holiday villa, and they need one dependable counterpart who can take the project from the first visit to the handover and explain French rules, timings and paperwork in plain terms. The people who will look after your home
A renovation abroad goes well when you know exactly who is responsible for what. Our team brings together management, design, site supervision and technical support, so that every question you have lands on the desk of the person able to answer it.
The two associates run ACR Provence and oversee the projects entrusted to the company. They set the standards the site teams work to and remain the final point of escalation if anything needs to be settled.
Charline, our architect, draws the plans and prepares planning applications such as the building permit (permis de construire). Marie-Lou reworks layouts and interior volumes, while Franck helps you choose colours, materials and finishes that suit a Provençal home.
Having design and building under one roof means the drawings are made by people who know how the work will actually be carried out on site.
Anthony acts as maître d'œuvre, the professional who plans and coordinates the works on your behalf. He organises our masons and site managers together with the specialist trades we work with, and checks that each stage is finished before the next one begins.

Jérôme is our technical and legal expert, the person to consult when a property shows defects or a contractual point needs a precise answer. Jean, our surveyor, handles measurements and boundaries. Four working principles we apply on every project
Owners who live in London, Brussels or Boston cannot drop by the site every morning. The way we organise our work is designed around that reality:
In France, a renovation is often split between independent craftsmen – mason, plasterer, plumber, electrician, tiler, painter – who each quote and invoice separately, leaving the owner to coordinate them. As a general building company, we take on the whole job: our own teams and the subcontracted trades we regularly work with operate under our coordination.
Every project starts with a precise look at the building itself. We assess its condition on site, select materials suited to the region and to the Provençal climate – hot summers, mistral wind, occasional violent rain – and only then put numbers on paper.
Your quote is free and we reply to every request within 48 hours. It breaks the work down line by line, so you can see what each stage involves and compare it calmly. The more you tell us at the start – what you expect, how the site can be reached, photos or plans – the more accurate it will be.
The structural work we carry out is covered by the ten-year builder's warranty (garantie décennale), the compulsory French insurance that protects owners against serious defects after handover. What it covers and how to use it is set out on our page on guarantees and after-sales service.
One contractor, a wide professional network
Being a single point of contact does not mean doing everything alone. It means knowing which specialist each part of the job needs and making sure they work to the same plan and the same standard.
Work carried out by our teams and trades
The range of work we coordinate for private owners and professionals:
- Structure: general and stone masonry, openings in load-bearing walls, extensions, raised storeys and new builds.
- Interiors: kitchens, bathrooms, plasterboard partitions, tiling, polished screed, joinery and painting.
- Exteriors: facades, terraces, exposed-aggregate concrete, landscaping and swimming pools.
- Comfort and repairs: air conditioning, energy renovation and restoration after fire or water damage.
Partners we bring in when a project calls for it
Some projects need outside expertise. We work alongside:
- Architects and interior architects for complex plans, heritage settings or larger volumes.
- Chartered surveyors (géomètres-experts) for boundaries, divisions and precise measurements.
- Technical and legal experts when a building shows defects or a dispute has to be documented.
- RGE-certified companies for energy work that requires the label. ACR Provence itself does not hold the RGE label.
Before work starts: the first weeks with us
Whether you are still house-hunting or already hold the keys, the beginning of a project follows the same three stages:
You describe your plans through our online form, by email or by phone. We then arrange a visit to the property; if you are abroad, simply tell us who can give us access – an agent, a neighbour or a caretaker.
We come back to you within 48 hours with a free, itemised quote. Take the time you need to read it, ask questions and adjust the scope before anything is signed.
Depending on the work, the town hall may require a prior declaration (déclaration préalable) or a building permit. Near a listed monument, the Architecte des Bâtiments de France (ABF) also has a say on materials and colours. Our architect prepares these applications with you.

Questions international owners ask about us
Is ACR Provence a builder, an architect or a project manager?
All three roles are covered under one roof. ACR Provence is first and foremost the building company that carries out the work, but our team also includes an architect for plans and permits and a maître d'œuvre who coordinates the trades on site. If you already work with your own architect, tell us when you first get in touch so that we can discuss how best to organise things.
Can you take on my project while I live in the UK, the US or elsewhere abroad?
Yes. Much of the preparation can be done at a distance: you send photos, plans and your wishes, we visit the property with whoever holds the keys, and the quote arrives in writing. During the works, you follow progress without having to travel for every decision; the details are covered in our project management guide.
Is ACR Provence RGE-certified?
No. RGE (Reconnu Garant de l'Environnement) is a French label required for certain energy-saving work to qualify for public grants. When a project needs it, we team up with RGE-certified partners. You will find more on insulation, heating and ventilation on our energy renovation in Provence page.
Do you only work for private owners?
No. Alongside private owners of houses, villas and apartments, we also work for professionals and for the managing agents of shared buildings (syndics de copropriété). Past projects include converting professional premises into a home and renovating the facade of a ten-apartment building in Arles, so a mixed-use property or a small building is well within our scope.
