Who is responsible for your data

Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978 (Loi Informatique et Libertés), the organisation that decides why and how your information is used is called the data controller. For this website, the data controller is ACR Provence, a French limited liability company (SARL).

What we collect when you contact us

You do not need an account to use this site, and simply reading its pages never requires you to give us your name or contact details. Personal information only reaches us when you choose to fill in a contact or quote form, or when you email or phone us directly. A quote request usually contains:

• Your name, so that we know who we are writing to.
• Your phone number and email address, so that we can reply and arrange a visit to the property.
• The town or address of the property, so that we can take the location of the works into account.
• The type of works and your own description of the project, which are the basis of the quote.
• The page of the site from which the request was sent.

These details are used for three purposes only: answering your enquiry, preparing and following up your quote, and managing the relationship with you if you become a client. They are intended for our sales team alone and are never sold or handed to advertisers. The free quote we aim to send within 48 hours is prepared from exactly this information, so the more precise your description, the more useful our first reply.

How long we keep it and who can read it

Enquiry and client records are kept for three years, after which they are removed from our files. Access is restricted to the ACR Provence sales team, which is based in France. Along the way, your information passes through a small number of technical services:

• Form delivery: the forms on this site are forwarded to our company mailbox by FormSubmit, a third-party form-handling service.
• Website hosting: the site itself is hosted in France by OVH SAS.
• Audience measurement: only if you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 receives browsing statistics, as described below.

Cookies and Google Analytics

A cookie is a small file that your browser keeps in order to remember information from one page to the next. On acr-provence.com, the only non-essential tool is Google Analytics 4, which shows us how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It is switched off by default: nothing is measured until you click Accept on the cookie banner, and Google's Consent Mode keeps analytics and advertising storage set to “denied” until you do. When measurement is active, IP address anonymisation is turned on.

Your answer is saved in your own browser's local storage, not on our servers. It applies to both the French and the English versions of the site, so switching language will not bring the banner back. Some pages also use the same mechanism to remember that you have closed our quote banner.

To change your mind, clear the browsing data stored for acr-provence.com in your browser settings; the banner will then appear again on your next visit. Declining cookies does not block access to any page.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Because ACR Provence is established in France, the GDPR applies to the data we hold whether you live in the United Kingdom, the United States or anywhere else. At any time, you can ask us to exercise the following rights:

• Access: receive a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Rectification: correct details that are wrong or out of date.
• Erasure: have your records deleted, unless the law requires us to keep them.
• Objection and restriction: stop or limit a particular use of your data.
• Portability: receive the data you gave us in a common digital format.
• Consent withdrawal: withdraw your agreement to analytics cookies whenever you wish.

Send your request to provenceacr@gmail.com, stating which right you wish to use and the email address or phone number you gave us, so that we can find your file. Under the GDPR, a reply is due within one month. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés), or with the regulator of the country where you live, such as the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom.
